Remembrance Day or Armistice Day commemorates the end of fighting for the First World War (WWI) when hostilities between Germany and the Allies ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month on the Western Front. Germany signed the Armistice agreement with the Allies at 5.45 AM that day. Since then, every year at the same time, day and month, a minute's silence is observed and the last post is played in memory of those who gave their lives.
Lest we forget.
